Solace Annual Leadership Forum 2019
The Solace Annual Leadership Forum 2019 takes place on 7th March 2019 and promises a day of debate, discussion and shared experiences around the challenges leaders face across the sectors.
Attendees will hear from innovative leaders from across the sectors who will share their leadership journeys and will be open to discuss issues and challenges that they have faced through out their career.

Professor Sir Cary Cooper
Professor Sir Cary Cooper CBE is the 50th Anniversary Professor of Organizational Psychology and Health at ALLIANCE Manchester Business School of the University of Manchester, President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (HR professional body), President of the British Academy of Management and President of the Institute of Welfare.
Cary is the author/editor of over 170 books (eg Wellbeing: Productivity and Happiness at Work, The Crisis Book, The Outstanding Middle Manager, Handbook of Stress and Health, and Editor of the six volume Wiley-Blackwell compendium Wellbeing), and 350 scholarly articles on organizational psychology and HR topics. He has seven Honorary doctorates and is Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He is the first port of call by the national and international media on workplace health and wellbeing. He was Knighted by the Queen in 2014 for his contribution to the social sciences
Dawn Baxendale, Chief Executive, Birmingham City Council
Dawn Baxendale is the new Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council, commencing her appointment from 3 April 2018. Previously, Dawn was Chief Executive for Southampton City Council. Originally from Huddersfield, Dawn has had an impressive career in local government and has an excellent track record for providing leadership that delivers success.
Starting with a fast-track management scheme with the European Commission, in Brussels, working for the World Bank in Romania, she’s worked the length of the UK and is passionate about public service and the critical leadership role that Local Authorities play in delivering successful places for their communities.
