Doncaster Council is to bring its social care, education and financial case management together in a single integrated software package.
The council has chosen Servelec, a provider of health, social care and education software, to provide its adult and children’s services teams with a single view of the vulnerable adults and children, and their families, in the authority’s care.
The Council is replacing siloed software with a fully integrated digital case management system, encompassing Servelec’s Mosaic social care case management system and Synergy children’s services management software. Doncaster’s social workers can now see a complete picture of a vulnerable service user’s family case history, education provisioning and financial support packages, enabling better, faster decisions and more appropriate support.
Doncaster Council will also implement Servelec’s supplier, citizen and professional online portals, to support the Council’s digital personalisation agenda and providing an improved experience for Doncaster citizens requiring care. The five-year contract for the integrated digital education and social care case management solution was procured under a single tender; a first in local council procurement.
Councillor Jane Nightingale at Doncaster Council commented: “We chose to progress with Servelec because we recognised the need to bring our social care and education case management together to deliver better digital care.
“Our social workers and care professionals needed to better share vital information, quickly and safely for the benefit of Doncaster people. We also required a more cost-effective and easy to manage single solution that was locally customisable to meet our local policies and processes. Servelec’s appointment via competitive tender matched perfectly with the ambition of our digital transformation and integration with our health agenda at Doncaster.”
Richard Betts, Managing Director across Servelec’s Social Care and Education businesses commented: “The development of the relationship between Doncaster Council and Servelec is really important to us, and we’re excited by this new phase of digital transformation. This is the first time both integrated solutions have been procured as part of a single tender process, embracing the shared record ability our system delivers, so we are incredibly proud.”
