Big vision, small steps: how to accelerate your digital transformation

Agilisys has published the second in a series of practical insights aimed at public sector organisations seeking to accelerate their digital transformation

Agilisys, the cloud and digital transformation specialist for the public sector, has published the second in a series of practical insights aimed at public sector organisations seeking to accelerate their digital transformation.

Rethinking digital transformation: Design draws on Agilisys’ two decades of experience helping the public sector to reimagine how technology can best meet the needs of their citizens, as well as their own organisations. It also highlights how making the most of digital capabilities demands a fundamental rethink of day-to-day operations.

The insight takes a detailed look at three pillars of transformation design, namely a vision of fully-integrated operations, a methodology of ‘quick wins’, and a plan for long-term sustainability. It also shines a light on how co-creation with all stakeholders can bring major benefits, why structured evolution, not revolution, should be the aim and why there’s no need to rush to digital solutions.

Commenting on the insight’s publication, Andrew Mindenhall, chief executive at Agilisys, said: “Digital transformation can no longer be regarded as simply a technology challenge. It’s a boardroom issue that impacts every corner of every organisation.

“We know that the shift to ‘digital’ is pushing organisations to new levels of complexity at an accelerated pace. Technology and society are changing and evolving so fast, that designing products and services in a way that meets citizen needs is a critical factor in any transformation programme, and not just because the technology is available.

“Involving all departments in the design process from the beginning, and having them actively participate, helps to alleviate fears and enables cross-departmental decision making and collaboration. ‘Step two: Design’ is the second in a series of practical insights from Agilisys and has been created for senior leaders from across the public sector, who are seeking to deliver real and lasting change.”
