Thoughts, ideas and suggestions welcomed for new City Data Sharing Toolkit
Future Cities Catapult has announced plans to develop a ‘City Data Sharing Toolkit’ that it hopes will enable cities to make best use of data and help businesses looking to support them.
The toolkit will pull together developing practice in relation to sharing non-personal city data, such as data collected through IoT technologies. It will showcase ways in which city data is being used and will develop as a resource for those looking to undertake similar activities.
To help Future Cities Catapult to design a toolkit that meets the needs of those working in city governments and those businesses looking to provide data-related services to cities, the urban innovation institute is conducting initial user research.
Over the next month it wants to understand the insights of data sharing experts, as well as the needs of those who are looking to share this sort of data for the first time. The organisation is looking to hear from you if:
To share your views email or reach out to the project lead on Twitter @edtparkes if you’d be interested in talking through your experiences.
As well as talking to those who have perfected the art of sharing data, Future Cities Catapult would like to hear from others who are just starting off on their journey who are willing to share thoughts around where they’re stuck and what type of support or resource would be helpful, via this short survey.
Finally, Future Cities Catapult is holding a co-creation workshop on 5 September where it’ll be presenting the work completed so far and, more importantly, work with attendees to help further develop the content of the Toolkit. You can find out more and register here.
