Aylesbury Vale scoops Digital Transformation of the Year title

Council takes top prize at Professional Service Management Awards 2017

Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) have won Digital Transformation of the Year at the Professional Service Management Awards 2017.

AVDC is focused on making ongoing digital improvements in order to become more efficient and make life easier for residents. Projects include the redesign of the website and creation of the hugely popular self-serve online account, Aylesbury Vale My Account, which has over 37,000 users so far.

The introduction of a webchat service has already saved over £35,000 and great progress is being made towards harnessing the power of AI to help residents. AVDC’s award-winning digital work aims to provide residents and businesses with an easy, flexible, efficient and thoroughly modern service.

The award was made as the council moves towards the use of Amazon’s Alexa voice service for a limited number of information and transaction requests as part of a long term plan to harness AI in its customer interactions.

Janet Blake, AVDC Cabinet Member for Business Transformation commented: “I’m delighted the great digital work going on at AVDC is once again being recognised. While putting our residents at the heart of our transformation we’ve managed to improve services and achieve some great savings. We won’t be resting on our laurels and our work is far from done, but awards such at this confirm that we’re on the right track”.

This award shows how AVDC is putting digital solutions into practice to improve service delivery for their customers. On 27 June, the council will be hosting a Digital by Design conference where they will share their digital journey, challenges they have faced, the lessons learnt and their plans for the future.

This conference will provide essential insight for anyone involved with strategy, development and delivery of digital solutions to drive change for residents, communities and staff, while delivering a sustainable future for their organisation.
