Huge disparity between mobile app security perception and reality (infographic)

A new report has revealed a huge disparity between perceived mobile app security and the reality.

A new report has revealed a huge disparity between perceived mobile health app security and the reality.

The study shows that while 84 per cent of consumers and IT execs believe their mobile health  apps are secure, 90 per cent of the apps tested positive for two critical security risks in the study.

The new State of Application Security Report is based on the analysis of 126 popular mobile health and finance apps from the US, UK, Germany, and Japan, as well as a study examining security perspectives of consumers and app security professionals.

In its research – full details can be found in the infographic below – Arxan found few geographical discrepancies in mobile app security across the US, UK, Germany, and Japan, and iOS apps were shown to be at least as vulnerable as Android apps.
