beta version of London.gov.uk is now available for the public to browse through and offer their feedback.

The site, which launched two weeks ago, has been developed by the digital agency CTI Digital. It is designed to connect Londoners to the Mayor of London and the London Assembly, as well as inform them of the worked carried out by City Hall and offer updates on upcoming public events.

Developers of the the new site have said that it points towards a “growing Open Source mentality” in government.

Paul Johnson, CTI Digital’s Drupal director, said: “This project signifies further and growing commitment to Drupal. The GLA has shown visionary leadership on this and have approved CTI Digital to release features developed for London.gov.uk to the open source community. As several other boroughs in London use Drupal this could benefit them directly. The adoption of an open source mentality is growing in government and this can only help to accelerate the speed of innovation.
