New LGC Award to recognise Digital Council of the Year

The 20th edition of the LGC Awards are open for nominations, with a new category of the Digital Council of the Year available, sponsored by Agilisys.

The 20th edition of the LGC Awards are open for nominations, with a new category of the Digital Council of the Year available, sponsored by Agilisys.

Councils have been invited to enter the new category by outlining their digital vision and explain how they are implementing technology to improve services for citizens to engage collaborators and partners into digital transformation.

The award recipient will be the authority that is determined to be most effective at demonstrating how it has systematically transformed its approach using technology and digital services.

Andrew Mindenhall business and client development director at Agilisys said: “We’re really excited to be sponsoring this new award, which will applaud excellence in digital transformation amongst local councils.

“Our experience in this field demonstrates time and again how technology can be used to reform ways of working, improve customer experience and reduce costs.”

Keith Cooper, acting editor of Local Government Chronicle added: “The transformation of public services often requires a re-think of how technology is used and embedded in local authorities.

New approaches to technology not only help commissioners and providers of services to work together in an increasingly collaborative environment.

They can also help councils make sense of the huge volumes of data held by the diverse services with which they work. This award aims to celebrate and share the very best practice in this field.”

Entries for the awards are open until the 25th September.
