How the public sector can conquer its digital skills gap

Throwing time, resources and money at digital services simply isn’t enough; councils must find the skills and expertise to plan and target their digital transformation effectively.

According to the most recent Societm “Towards the Digital Council: Progress Report”, throwing time, resources and money at digital services simply isn’t enough; councils must find the skills and expertise to plan and target their digital transformation effectively.

But, with a huge digital skills gap and a growing strain on public sector resources, finding and hiring talent already equipped to lead digital transformation in a customer-centric way is a near impossible task.

The Academy of Digital Business Leaders (ADBL) has worked with UK Government Senior Advisor on Digital Skills as well as pioneers from businesses like Google, John Lewis and HSBC to create the Diploma in Digital Business Leadership, designed to equip local government managers and leaders with the skills and mindset required in the Digital by Default world.

A number of public sector leaders have already signed up, making the Diploma in Digital Business Leadership an invaluable networking opportunity where leaders work and learn from and alongside each other.

Digital by Default readers are still able to obtain one of ten 50 percent-funded places on the invitation-only programme, kicking off next month. With just four of ten Digital by Default places still available at the discounted rate of £2,082 (+VAT), the course is expected to fill quickly.

Enquire with The ADBL to get course information. Digital by Default members can reserve a place in just five minutes over the phone on 020 7173 5901 or by emailing info@theadbl.com.
