Socitm announces agenda for “open up digital” spring event

Socitm announces the programme for its spring event exploring how local public services, including local authorities, the NHS and third sector bodies, can “open up digital” in a time of austerity.

Socitm announces the speaking programme for its spring event exploring how local public services, including local authorities, the NHS and third sector bodies, can “open up digital” in a time of austerity.

Socitm says that its programme reflects the debate of the “how and why” of local digital services.

The opening keynote speech will be ‘local public services as a platform’, delivered by Mark Thompson from Methods Consulting and Cambridge Judge Business School; arguing for the creation of a local GDS, greater regional collaboration and how the government can introduce a common digital platform.

Phillip Virgo of the Conservative Tech Forum and Eddie Copeland from Policy Exchange will jointly present ‘the rise of the network’ to discuss information sharing and working with the public service network.

The event includes several sessions on health and social care reform and integration, the first led by Inderjit Singh from NHS England, followed by Rob Kenyon of Leeds City Council to discuss workforce development in terms of digital skills.

John Jackson, chief information officer for London Borough of Camden and Uros Strel Lencic, Lead UX Designer, Digital Catapult, will conclude proceedings with a keynote addressing how service redesign is key to local public services to improve usability and cutting delivery costs.

Additionally, there will be a series of seminars with delegates showcasing new design and delivery approaches to public digital services.

The conference will be held on 23rd April at ETC Venues, Dexter House, 2 Royal Mint Ct, London, EC3N 4QN.

Attendance is open to all, with discounts available to Socitm members. To register, go to: http://www.socitmspringconference.com/agenda
