UNIT4’s Coventry City Council project chosen as finalist in prestigious awards

Joe Sansom, Transformation Programme Delivery Manager at Coventry City Council said: “We are delighted that the project is being recognised in this way as it has been a real success. Agresso ERP is integrated into 24 separate systems and is now core to all financial planning decisions made at the council."

UNIT4 has been revealed as a finalist in the European IT & Software Excellence Awards 2015 for a highly successful project completed in partnership with Coventry City Council.

The awards recognise best practices in customer solutions across Europe. Finalists showed understanding of the customer’s requirements and the ability to deliver software to specification and time scale while meeting or exceeding agreed customer targets.

Coventry City Council implemented UNIT4’s Agresso ERP solution on time, under budget and has subsequently achieved Return on Investment (RoI) in less than six months. The council provides a wide range of services to a population of over 320,000 citizens. Although it is experiencing an increase in demand for services, it is estimated that its budgets will be cut by up to 17% from 2010 to 2015/2016.

Joe Sansom, Transformation Programme Delivery Manager at Coventry City Council said: “We are delighted that the project is being recognised in this way as it has been a real success. Agresso ERP is integrated into 24 separate systems and is now core to all financial planning decisions made at the council. It gives us new levels of visibility so that employees are making better informed finance decisions; in fact Agresso ERP has underpinned £3.8m savings in under a year. Additionally as Agresso is so flexible, since go-live, we have been able to manage all systems changes internally without spending a penny on external consultancy.”

Helen Sutton, Managing Director of UNIT4 for the UK and Ireland said: “We are really pleased to be nominated for our work with Coventry City Council. The council is a credit to the sector; it has carefully implemented the solution and then measured the results so that it can demonstrate to tax payers a technology project that is making a real and tangible difference.”
