Council launches website for services for young people with special educational needs and disabilities

The website, Local Offer, contains a directory of services and additional guidance along with social media accounts to keep up to date with events and activities.

A new website, Local Offer, has been launched by Northamptonshire County Council which aims to improve information about services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

The website contains a directory of services and additional guidance along with social media accounts to keep up to date with events and activities.

Councillor Matthew Golby, cabinet member for learning, skills and education, said: “This is the second phase of development of the new county council website, building on the Children and Families Service Finder which was launched in June this year. The new website is built to work on any platform – desktop, tablet or mobile – as over one-third of customers use mobile or tablet technology to visit our website and that number is growing all the time. We will be releasing more sites in the coming months to exploit this new technology.

“Our dedicated Local Offer team have worked tirelessly with colleagues in the web and digital team to make our Local Offer comprehensive, engaging and informative. Parents, children and professionals have also helped to develop the website and we will carry on working with them to ensure the site continues to improve.”
