The TalkTalk Digital Heroes projects have been shortlisted and now they want the public to nominate a deserving project to win £10,000 and the title of TalkTalk Digital Hero 2014.

Picked from hundreds of entries all across the UK, 28 nominees have the chance to be awarded at the House of Commons before an esteemed judging panel.

As a category winner they would claim a £5,000 grant and be in with a chance to scoop the title of TalkTalk Digital Hero 2014 and £10,000 of funding.

The TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards sit at the heart of the TalkTalk Digital Heroes Foundation and are part of a wider initiative to help make communities better off through being online.

To date, funding to the tune of nearly £500,000 has been provided to 78 projects across Britain.

Dido Harding, CEO of TalkTalk said: “Our TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards are a great way of rewarding small and local digital projects that are using technology to benefit their community.

Baroness Martha Lane Fox, who sits on the judging panel, added:  “Digital skills are a hugely important part of modern life, and it’s crucial that everyone in the UK has the opportunity to take advantage of their benefits.”

Voting will be open until 25 September 2014 and votes can be cast for any category.
