NHS publish online tool empowering public to take charge of health

The NHS has created an interactive online guide to help people identify life threatening conditions in a drive to educate the public and bring healthcare into the community.

The NHS has created an interactive online guide to help people identify life threatening conditions in a drive to educate the public and bring healthcare into the community.

The online database is part of the England-wide NHS Health Check Programme, a preventative scheme aiming to reduce hospital admissions and improve health.

The guide features videos, case studies and lists health and fitness apps designed to help people take a more proactive role in their healthcare.

NHS Health Check programme national lead Jamie Waterall said: “It is important that those who are eligible are aware of the benefits of the programme. The new interactive guide will help people understand what it is, and crucially, how it can help.”
