Agilisys Digital expands presence into Wales

Wrexham County Borough Council are to realise savings through channel shift, with citizens benefitting from improved online experience.

Wrexham County Borough Council has selected IT and business services provider Agilisys to deliver the Agilisys Digital platform, which allows ‘once and done’ citizen access to council services online. This will be the first instance of the product in Wales, and will receive Welsh Assembly Government funding, serving as an exemplar programme for other Welsh local authorities.

Implementation of Agilisys Digital, with its MyAccount portal, will enable a significantly improved, seamless online experience for residents, whilst at the same time generating savings for the council. The council will work with Agilisys to implement a number of modules available in the multi-channel platform, including mobile accessibility, ensuring access to such core services as council tax and benefits how and when citizens prefer.

The implementation will also include integration with the Agilisys Engage personalisation software, further improving the users’ online experience by increasing understanding of visitors’ needs as they use the website, and then serving up the most relevant content based on this knowledge.

Cllr Neil Rogers, Leader of Wrexham Council said: “Over seven thousand people contact Wrexham County Borough Council each working day, and a significantly higher number benefit from the services the council provides. An increasing number of our people also expect to contact the council digitally as well.

“As an innovative authority, we are committed to leading on the digital by default agenda – not only for the savings it can enable, but because it is what our citizens expect. Wrexham Council is pleased to be the first Welsh authority to be working with Agilisys and we are confident that this project will help us meet the public’s needs and expectations, both today and in the future. We’re also delighted the Welsh Assembly Government is recognising this innovative approach by providing some part of the funding for this programme.”

Nigel Muirhead, Agilisys Director of Products added: “We’re delighted to be named contracted provider by Wrexham to deliver the Agilisys Digital platform and the benefits it can bring to the local citizens. We’re proud to add Wales to our ‘digital footprint’ – and look forward to this being the first of many clients in the country as we continue to grow.”
