Melton Borough chooses Agilisys Digital to meet digital by default aims

Public sector digital transformation partner Agilisys has announced that Melton Borough Council has become the most recent authority to choose the Agilisys Digital platform to help them improve their citizens’ online experience and save money.

Public sector digital transformation partner Agilisys has announced that Melton Borough Council has become the most recent authority to choose the Agilisys Digital platform to help them improve their citizens’ online experience and save money, by meeting their digital by default aims. In a competitive process, the council has selected Agilisys’ new Digital for Districts offering, with its modules customised for the specific needs of district councils, and will purchase the platform through the G-Cloud IV framework.

Melton residents will benefit from the introduction of the MyAccount portal, allowing them access to transactional services the council provides – including changes to council tax accounts and applying for benefits in a single secure digital space. Accessible online, through mobile devices, as well as the contact centre; the MyAccount portal will play a key role alongside process improvements to ensure the digital experience meets citizens’ needs and expectations, making digital their chosen channel.

As a fundamental part of understanding those citizens’ needs online, and as a standard component of Digital for Districts, the implementation also includes Agilisys Engage software, which based on anonymous and secure profiling can provide a personalised experience to the visitor, as well as greater understanding of online behaviour that can be used to further improve what services and information is offered online, how, and to whom.

Christian Coltart, Transformational Programme Manager, Melton Borough Council said: “There is no doubt that achievement of the digital vision will enable the Council to be well prepared for future anticipated financial pressures, as well as meeting citizens’ growing expectations for online service delivery. After a rigorous evaluation process, we are confident that in Agilisys Digital for Districts we have chosen the platform that will help us achieve that vision.”

Nigel Muirhead, Agilisys Products Director added, “We’re delighted to have Melton Borough Council join the growing list of customers for Agilisys Digital, showing the importance of having a tailored offering as we do for district councils. This is also further confirmation of the benefits of the Cloud Store to public sector organisations like Melton – not only have they reduced procurement cost and effort, the quick process ultimately means citizens will be able to benefit from MyAccount that much sooner.”
