Blackburn with Darwen aims to improve service to citizens while reducing costs

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is to embark on a transformation of the services it provides with the help of Asidua’s Customer Contact Platform.

Asidua has secured a deal with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council. Based in the north west of England, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is to embark on a transformation of the services it provides with the help of Asidua’s Customer Contact Platform™ (CCP).

Like many local authorities, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council identified citizen self-service as a key enabler to driver to improving their service to citizens while reducing the cost of doing so. They have selected the Asidua Customer Contact Platform™ to help them deliver on this vision. During the engagement, Asidua will implement CCP and work collaboratively with the Council to create a flexible end-to-end transactional web self-service solution, linking front and back office systems. The transformation will not only improve citizen’s services but will also drive the efficiencies and cost reductions that Blackburn with Darwen seek.

Speaking on the latest contract, Managing Director of Asidua GB, Dr Steve Sheppard said: “Asidua is delighted to announce our latest contract win with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council. Our Customer Contact Platform™ has been acutely designed to allow Local Authorities like Blackburn with Darwen to not only improve citizen’s services, but to also achieve significant savings; savings which can be directed back to vital frontline services.”

Asidua’s latest local government contract win follows successful engagements in the North West and sees them continue to add their growing customer base which includes Milton Keynes, London Borough of Harrow and NI Direct.

According to Mike Zammit, Director of Information Technology, Management and Governance at Blackburn with Darwen Council: “Given the recent financial constraints imposed on local authorities, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has identified citizen self-service as a key enabler to drive efficiency savings whilst improving service to citizens. To accomplish this we are undertaking a significant re-development of our existing IT application architecture to enable us to build a fit for purpose platform on which we can transform existing services.”
