Three London councils, Westminster City Council, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and Hammersmith & Fulham Council, have agreed a shared framework to deliver IT services and resources in order to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
In a Tri-borough collaboration, the councils have selected Agilisys to deliver an innovative framework contract for service desk and service management as part of the Tri-borough IT Services framework. The agreement has a five-year call-down contract period, with possible extensions for up to another 3 years. Alongside Agilisys’ appointment, BT will also deliver distributed computing and data centre services
WCC is expected to award the framework contract next week, and will be calling-down from this framework early in 2014, with the services in place by autumn 2014.
The framework contract allows Agilisys to offer these services, in their entirety, or as selected service elements, across London, to local authorities and their partners.

“Savings from the adoption of these shared services are positive and underpin the delivery of wider service savings across the tri-borough. These new frameworks will enable more efficient tri-borough working and achievement of existing and future savings targets.”

Welcoming the framework agreement, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Cabinet Member for Community Safety, IT and Corporate Services, Cllr Joanna Gardner said: “This is another example of how tri-borough working is helping to protect front line services, whilst reducing costs. IT services provide the back office support to the day to day work of the Council and by letting these contracts across three boroughs and seeking new ways to reduce costs, we are helping protect service delivery for our residents.”

Agilisys will provide Westminster with a Service Desk solution and support the service integration and management role the council performs across its ICT service provision. Agilisys currently delivers IT services and innovative product offerings to more than half of all London boroughs including Barking & Dagenham, Hammersmith & Fulham, City of London Corporation, and Tower Hamlets.
