West Lancashire Borough Council selects 1st Touch for mobile working system

West Lancashire Borough Council is to work with 1st Touch to implement a mobile working system for housing officers in its Estate Management Team.

West Lancashire Borough Council is to work with 1st Touch to implement a mobile working system for housing officers in its Estate Management Team. The team provides a range of services across the council’s housing estates, including anti-social behavior issues, neighbor and boundary disputes.

The deal will enable officers visiting the estates to use Apple iPads to access information which would usually only be available at the office. They will be able to answer questions onsite, record issues and pass on information immediately. 1st Touch was selected as there is an existing integration with the council’s back-office Aareon Housing Management System.

Councillor Val Hopley, portfolio holder for Landlord Services, said: “The Council is constantly working to improve its services to tenants and residents and this new mobile working system will help us do that. Work can begin immediately on tackling issues raised by tenants rather than having to wait until staff return to their offices.”

The council is planning to roll out the scheme to other officers including those in rents and property services in the future.
