IT managed services provider, Advanced 365 is partnering with Apira, a healthcare information service consultancy, to help NHS trusts improve IT service levels and reduce costs. The partnership believes this can be achieved through outsourcing and cloud computing.

NHS trusts are working towards strict targets set out in the Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) initiative. The QIPP initiative is a large-scale programme developed by the Department of Health that aims to drive quality improvements in NHS care and help save up to £20 billion by 2014/15.

Apira has experience in delivering and managing large scale transformational outsource programmes for NHS trusts and is currently helping many of these achieve their targets. The partnership hopes to draw on the experience of Advanced in deploying technologies that improve performance while reducing costs.

Alan Brown, Head of IT Deployment and Management, Apira, comments: “The savings that organisations can achieve by adopting cloud technologies are considerable and we can ensure compliance with government legislation designed to safe-guard patient data, such as ensuring data is stored in UK datacentres.
