GDS claims it has had ‘great response’ for fourth iteration of G-Cloud

A new blog posted on the G-Cloud website states: “It will be a month before the framework goes live and we can tell you how it’s gone. But it’s been really positive to see suppliers coming back as well as new suppliers looking to join us.”

The Government Digital Service claims it has had a ‘great response’ from suppliers in the bidding round for a place on the fourth iteration of the G-Cloud programme. The deadline for submissions for the framework has recently closed and it is due to be live in a month’s time.

A new blog posted on the G-Cloud website states: “It will be a month before the framework goes live and we can tell you how it’s gone. But it’s been really positive to see suppliers coming back as well as new suppliers looking to join us.”

The G-Cloud reflects the government’s on-going plans to level the playing field for SME suppliers. 83% of the 832 suppliers on the framework are SMEs, and there has been GBP 44.7 million spent through the CloudStore to date.

The blog has also claimed that the GDS has a permanent budget for the framework, although the value for this is not yet fixed. The GDS said: “We now want to take some time to review how things have gone, get some more user feedback and understand how we can continue to improve sales and engagement with buyers and suppliers.”
