Blackburn with Darwen Council launches Your Call app

Citizens can make requests for information via the app, as well as give feedback and access real-time information about news and events in the borough.

The Blackburn with Darwen Council has launched a smartphone app called Your Call, developed by Abavus and based on the latter’s My Council Services app, which allows residents to contact the council any time of the day. It is available on Google Apps, iTunes and Blackberry World and has already been download 150 times.

Citizens can make requests for information via the app, as well as give feedback and access real-time information about news and events in the borough.

According to Councillor Yusuf Jan-Virmani, Executive Member for Neighbourhood, Housing and Customer Services: “It’s very straightforward and easy for people to report problems or look up information on the move. With [the app], there’s no need to wait until you get back to the office or home to report problems, no need to hang on the phone to speak to an advisor at busy times and no need to work out who you should send the report to.”
