More effective management of hospital services

HP and Epic have been awarded contracts worth around GBP 200 million over a ten-year period for their joint ‘eHospital’ scheme by Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS Foundation Trust and Papworth Hospital. The firms will be responsible for the delivery of clinical information and decisions support systems, an electronic patient records (EPR) system, and supporting technology and infrastructure. Epic will provide EPR systems and software, and HP will supply infrastructure services, hosting and document management.  HP will also provide tablets and other devices.

CUH said that: “eHospital will enable clinical and front-line staff at Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals to access all relevant patient information whenever and wherever they need it.” The new system will “support clinical decisions, lead to better prescribing and improved patient communications, and more effective management of hospital services”.
