Transport for Greater Manchester wants to create an ‘intelligent’ transport system – the Dynamic Road Network Efficiency and Travel Information System Solution – over the next six years in order to improve administration and services. To this end, it is tendering a contract worth up to £15 million.

The aim is to build a multi-modal passenger information system which can be delivered over an open source information exchange. The system will include an online journey planning tool and mobile apps and will integrate data from a variety of data sources, including bus, rail, tram and highway services.
