The Public Leaders Network on the Guardian website held a live discussion where experts ‘explored how digital plans will benefit civil service policy making and the public’.

The panel included Ian Cunningham, head of public sector sales at Vodafone UK and John Sheridan, head of legislation Services at The UK National Archives and former Linked Data lead for data.gov.uk.

According to Sheridan, “Digital will develop new solutions to old problems: a small example is how we are revising legislation for legislation.gov.uk – working with editors from inside government and also outside, in a collaborative way.” Other topics discussed included the importance of promoting inclusivity and of civil servants interacting with the public in new ways.
