Mobile Working technology helps cut down time spent on travel and administrative work

Mobile Scotland 2012, to be held in Edinburgh, will be Scotland’s biggest mobile technology event and has managed to attract 23 of the country’s 29 local authorities. The conference will help councils use mobile technology to deal with limited budgets and stretched resources.

The conference will be hosted by Consilium (TotalMobile), which has provided efficiency saving IT solutions to Local Government for over 26 years and now specialises in Enterprise Mobility (increasing array of mobile devices, wireless networks, and related services to enable broad use of mobile computing). Experts from Motorola, Fujitsu and Vodafone will be addressing the delegates while local councils who have had successful mobility projects will share their experiences as well.

Mobile Working technology helps cut down time spent on travel and administrative work, letting staff focus on delivering better services. Aberdeen City Council are a prime example of this: they are saving £1.5m per year.

Group Marketing Manager Nuala Murphy said: “We’re looking forward to meeting the delegates to discuss their mobile working strategies and share our experience helping Councils improve their working processes.”

Mobile Scotland 2012 will take place on 25th September at the COSLA Conference Centre.
